Silvia S. Dorfsman (b.1963, Havana, Cuba)
Resides in Miami, FL since 1980. Ms. Dorfsman received a Bachelor in International Relations with a minor in Art History by Florida International University —1993. Since 1992 works as independent curator, and art merchant, developing multiples projects as promoter and representative of prestigious visual Latin-American artist.
In 1996, as Director of Yamato Gallery and, in 2001, Alpha International Galleries curated more than twelve, both solo and collective exhibitions, besides auctions and independent projects of promotion of the contemporary Latin American art.
Since 2003 works as Director of Blue Door Fine Arts, combining her work as art merchant with consulting to companies, foundations and private collectors. She has collaborated with multiples institutions as Museum of Latin American Art (MoLAA) in California, Frost Art Museum of Florida International University, and Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale (MOAFL) in Florida, collaborating in artwork acquisitions and donations of some of the most important and renowned artists of Latin America.
Completed and passed, the Fine Arts Appraisal (2007) course and the Core Course in Appraisal Studies (2008). USPAP 15 hours course (2009).
